Chidambaram press conference on Wednesday on the way to implement the Congress's largest masterstroke 'NYAY' scheme for the Lok Sabha elections 2019. The former Finance Minister explained that there will be no difficulty in implementing this scheme as we have churned about it. He said that if this scheme is implemented, then 50 million families will get benefit.

Former finance minister P. Chidambaram said that we will benefit 20 percent of the country's poor people under this scheme, under which around 25 crore people will be benefitted. He said that we have churned it at every level, under this every month a family will be given 6000 rupees per month i.e. 72000 rupees annually. Chidambaram said that we talked to many economists about this and everybody agreed on this.

He said that such a plan could not be implemented 30-40 years ago. Today, due to the librarianization of the Congress government, due to the fact that this kind of scheme can be implemented today, it has happened. The former Finance Minister said that India's GDP is constantly increasing and it is likely to double in the next five years. In such a situation, it is possible to complete this scheme. He said that from 2019 to 2024 India's GDP will reach 200 to 400 million crores. Applying the NYAY scheme will cost one and a half percent of India's GDP.

Significantly, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had announced this plan by press conference. According to Rahul, this scheme will be the biggest ever plan and will help eliminate poverty in India. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party had described Rahul Gandhi's scheme as a lie. The BJP had fielded Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the field, who had termed the scheme as false by describing the history of Congress.
